Questions about German press releases

Packages, distribution, SEO, legal — the most common questions, answered in depth.

For foreign companies

Do I need a German legal entity (GmbH / UG)?

No. We operate via Kotzur LLC (Florida, USA) and provide a German recipient address for compliance. You buy as your existing company from anywhere in the world. The portal-side imprint requirement is handled — you only provide your standard company details.

How do I write the release in German if I don't speak German?

Use DeepL Pro or ChatGPT. Both produce excellent German B2B copy from English, French, Spanish, Italian, Polish, etc. Recommended workflow: write your draft in your language, run it through DeepL/ChatGPT, do one read-through with a German speaker if you have one (we don't require it), paste the German text into our editor.

What about VAT? Do I pay German VAT?

No German VAT applies if you're a registered business outside Germany — CopeCart handles reverse-charge invoicing automatically. EU businesses with valid VAT-ID get the invoice net (reverse charge applies). Non-EU businesses get a net invoice. Private individuals (B2C) within the EU pay their local VAT rate.

Will my brand resonate in Germany if it's a foreign company?

Yes — Germans actively follow international brands, especially in SaaS, e-commerce, fashion, automotive, fintech and B2B tech. The credibility boost from being featured in German press is the same regardless of where you're headquartered. Many of our customers are US, NL, FR, IT, ES, TR, PL or PT companies expanding into the DACH region.

Can I see the release URLs after they go live?

Yes. After distribution you get an email with the direct portal URL. The dashboard also shows every live release with status, date and link. Use the URLs in your link-building reports, sales decks or "as seen on" website credits.

Packages & pricing

How much does it cost to publish one press release?

From €2 per release in the agency package. A single one-off release costs €9.90. The Business package (€749) brings the per-release cost to €4.99 — best value for most active brands. All prices net, plus VAT where applicable.

Which package is right for me?

Single (€9.90) for testing. Starter (€45) for 5 releases. Smart (€129) for consistent PR. Pro (€399) and Business (€749 — best value per release) for active strategies. Enterprise and Agency are for resellers and PR agencies.

How long are credits valid?

12 months from purchase. Unused credits expire after. You can spread releases freely across the 12-month window — no need to use them all at once.

Can I mix credits from different packages?

Yes. If you buy a Starter (5 releases) and later a Pro (50 releases), the credits merge. Consumption is in order of expiry date.

How do I pay?

Via CopeCart — card, SEPA, PayPal, Klarna. You get a proper invoice with VAT statement automatically by email.

Do I get an invoice with VAT?

Yes — automatically by email after purchase. CopeCart acts as merchant of record and issues a full VAT invoice you can book directly.

Distribution & delivery

How fast does my release go live?

Typically within 24 hours after submission. We review every release manually for spam, quality and legal issues. After approval the release is delivered automatically to your chosen portal — live within minutes to a few hours depending on the portal.

Can I schedule the publish time?

Yes. Choose "send now" or pick a date and time. Recommended when you have several releases on a similar topic — Google reacts sensitively to too many simultaneous backlinks.

How do I pick the right portal?

In the dashboard you see every available portal — news, trade, regional, event — with topic focus and category. Pick the one that matches your industry and where your audience reads.

What if my release gets rejected?

If our review finds issues (pure ads, legal concerns, low quality), you get a reasoned email and your credit stays. Revise and resubmit — same slot, no new credit.

Can I edit a release after it's published?

No — once published, releases are immutable (PR-industry standard, ensures releases stay credible documents). You can publish a corrected second release if needed.

Can I take a release down later?

Yes. Logged-in customers request removal in the dashboard — we quote a fixed price based on number of releases and portals. Once you confirm, we remove them across our network.

How long does my release stay online?

At least 5 years. We only work with portals that archive releases long-term — no 30-day specials, no auto-deletion. You keep the dofollow backlink and Google hit for years.

Are the backlinks dofollow or nofollow?

All dofollow — no exceptions. We don't partner with portals that use nofollow, since Google doesn't treat those as endorsements. Real link equity, every time.

Content, quality & images

What kind of content gets accepted?

Classic press releases with real news value: product launches, hires, studies, awards, events, company news. The rule: it must be a real "story", not a pure ad.

What gets rejected?

Pure ads without information value, gambling, adult content, crypto pumps, medical health claims, politically extreme content, anything that violates trademark, copyright or personality rights.

Which image formats are supported?

JPG, PNG, WebP, max 5 MB per file. Recommended minimum width: 1200 px for good display on modern portals. One main image per release is required. Stock photos are fine if you have the license rights.

How long should my release be?

Optimal: 200–400 words in the body, plus headline (max 80 chars), subline (max 160 chars) and boilerplate (about-us block, ~80 words). Too short (<150 words) and too long (>800 words) both perform worse.

Do I need SEO knowledge to write a release?

No. Our editor shows live counters for characters, words and links. The SEO tab lets you optionally set meta-title, meta-description and focus keyword — if you skip it, we generate sensible defaults from your text.

Will the links in my release count as backlinks?

Yes. Per release you can place 1–3 dofollow links to your site. The portals treat them as real editorial backlinks — a key pillar of modern off-page SEO.

SEO & duplicate content

Why doesn't germanPressRelease blast the same release to 50 portals?

Because that hurts your SEO. Google indexes only 3–5 % of duplicate releases and treats identical backlinks as "unnatural link velocity" — a textbook spam signal since Penguin 2012. Classic mass distributors lose Domain Authority over time as a result.

How does germanPressRelease protect my Google ranking?

Three mechanisms: (1) you pick one portal per release — no mass blast. (2) you write a unique text per portal. (3) you can schedule releases to spread backlinks naturally over days/weeks.

What is duplicate content and why is it dangerous?

When the same text appears on multiple URLs, Google has to decide which version is "the right one". For press releases, Google typically indexes only the first one — or the one with the highest Domain Authority. The rest disappear. That makes mass distribution an expensive miss.

What kind of domains are your portals?

Real online magazines and trade publications with editorial teams — not link farms or auto-generated sites. We don't publish exact Moz DA per portal because those numbers fluctuate; what matters is the editorial quality and topical fit for your release. Full list at /portals.

How many releases per month for visible SEO impact?

For sustained SEO effects: 2–4 releases per month over 6+ months. Consistency matters more than frequency. The Business package (150 releases / 12 months) maps to ~12.5 releases per month — a very active strategy.

Account & onboarding

How do I get into the dashboard?

After buying a package via CopeCart you get an email with a password-setup link. Set your password and you're in the dashboard. There's no separate registration without a purchase.

I bought, but no email arrived. What now?

Check your spam folder first. If still nothing, contact us via /contact with your CopeCart order number — we resend the setup link manually.

Is the dashboard available in English?

The dashboard UI is currently in German. We recommend using your browser's built-in translation (right-click → "Translate to English"). Full English UI is on the roadmap. The marketing site, support, and welcome emails are already available in 14 languages.

Can I have multiple users on one account?

In the current version 1 account = 1 login. Team features (multi-user, roles, approval workflows) are planned for Q3 2026.

I forgot my password. What do I do?

On the login page there's a "forgot password" link. You get a reset email valid for 1 hour.

Can I delete my account?

Yes, anytime. In the dashboard under Settings → Account you can request deletion. We delete account data immediately; legally required invoice data stays for 10 years (German HGB §257).
